A new day

(pic: Mary Gorski & Lisa B at the pre-race meeting)
Thanks y'all for kind words and encouragement. I'm feeling totally fine now. I had a tough time staying asleep for various reasons, but was always able to fall back to sleep, and I moved around normally, bit wilt caution.

Our fight to Spokane via Denver was easy. We ran into Deedee and Amy Grafius at the airport so we enjoyed some veggie burritos together. I was actually starving, which was a great sign. I was a little nervous but ate most of it and had no problems. I had other food snacks with me that stayed down well and I am thrilled about that!

I struggled with the thought of "running" today here in Spokane where is 65 degrees. The mind really wants to but the body's not ready. I must let it rest from that road pounding. Now, this would be a good time to get on a bike! By the way, the bike's coming, I'm going to a shop in Seattle for a custom. I hope to have it in 3 weeks.

So, YES, I've got some pictures from the race. Pre-race & during. There are many relay runners I don't know, but you can probably guess right who is a relay and who's a solo just by looking. It's real easy...they are running faster! They were incredibly nice to us.

Here's the link to my pictures if you are interested.

Lisa,
I'm sorry to hear about your horrible day on Saturday - what a rotten time. I'm glad you are keeping stuff down now. Hope you feel better soon!

It wasn't that bad. I actually had quite a bit of fun. It's just I got to the point of having zero energy so was forced to call it a day. Good news is I'm feeling fine now and want to run again! Too bad I have to work today. :)

Jeez, it looks SOO cold! Lisa, darling, sorry you had such a bad gut problem, it sucks. Smart move, actually, with no energy it would have been the only move. When it doesn't work, it doesn't work. What reminds me to get rid of Clip packets that are 3 yo:) Bummer David had a joint thingy. Leah seemed to have had a pretty fast time for the first half - how is she? Congrats to Greg and to Scott (a great runner), to Julie and a new-comer Devon (I just read an article on her) and to all who battled the winds and the chill and the distance, whether or not they ran in college.
Great to have you back, Lisa!

Lisa, you were so tough to hang in there for as long as you did. Throwing up is the worst! I'm glad the other parts of being there sounded fun and worthwhile, though. I'm glad you got back in time to enjoy some balmy weather, too.
